Breakfast of insane people

Macarons and bellinis in a private viewing room at Cartier's US flagship store

One morning two weeks ago, I was at the Cartier Mansion on Fifth Avenue with some very nice French people – possibly the nicest French people I’ve ever met (and I know quite a few). They’d arranged macarons and bellinis for breakfast, and I couldn’t have either, so felt a bit sheepish. Some things are just too beautiful to consume.
