Claddagh pendant from my team

My most recent trip to Sierra Leone and Ireland was my last as an employee of the humanitarian organization I’ve been privileged to serve since last year. I’m starting with a new job in a new company tomorrow, and this was something of a “See you later” tour for me; I will still be involved in the project in my free time, but there won’t be much of that.

At HQ in Dublin, my team gave me the claddagh pendant above as a thank you gift. The heart is for love, the hands for friendship, and the crown for loyalty. I’ve learned a lot about all three from this most meaningful work, and I take it all with me to my next adventure. I couldn’t be more grateful for what I’ve been allowed to do and where I’ve been asked to go as part of our efforts to address maternal, newborn and child mortality. All I can say, to whomever is listening, is thank you.
