I’m going back in less than two weeks, with my new company (oh yeah, forgot to mention: I joined Weber Shandwick as director of social communications last week). I’ll be there from the 9th until the 15th, and have already given up hope of seeing all the people I want to see while I’m in town – there are simply too many. That said, do ping me if you’re going to be there and want to meet up; my plans are taking shape, but I’m still open to ideas for must-see panels and events.
SxSW was in 2009, which seems like a lifetime ago. I was there with Qik (that’s me and my then-boss, Bhaskar), and found it a completely disorienting experience. All these people I knew from Silicon Valley, New York and London, all hanging out in Austin, eating barbecue and fighting over power outlets for their MacBook and iPhone chargers? It was trippy.
