Empire State Building from the bus between work & home

I feel the need to express gratitude for my commute, which goes something like this: Get on bus. Ride bus for seven minutes. Walk two blocks. “You have arrived! Destination is on your right,” says my internal sat nav narrator.

Hard to believe, but some mornings this is too much for me, especially if carrying a lot of stuff. But NYC has all these yellow cars, and you can just jump in one and be driven to wherever you want. It costs money, yes, but on those mornings it’s so worth it.

Sometimes I need to remind myself that this is a pretty sweet set-up.
