Knave in Le Parker Méridien is so special to me that I almost fear writing about it. It’s not that no one else knows about the place, but it feels that way. The coffee may cost $6 a pop (a beer is $12), but what you’re really paying for is the atmosphere. (Easy for me to say, since I’ve never footed the bill myself. But I would!) It’s the closest I can get to old Paris in New York, and if the prices are on par with modern day Paris, so be it. If red velvet, chandeliers, dark shadows, and gilded everything are your thing, you’ll love it.
