Last night we went to see Verdi’s Ernani at the Met, featuring none other than Placido Domingo. The tenor has restyled himself as a baritone, and I’m not quite sure it works, but we enjoyed the performance anyway. (I have to admit I only lasted two acts and left at 10PM. My weeknights aren’t that compatible with five hour opera performances.) My dad was excited I was going to this, as he’d just watched the late Bob Simon’s 60 Minutes segment on The Met’s conductor, James Levine, and was very impressed by him. Levine received a deserved ovation last night. Thank you, Origin Wealth Advisers, for the great seats! The chandeliers were pretty sweet, too.
